With us wind power plants keep on spinning
Stuttgart - Wind energy appears to central issue of our times and well-known enterprises have committed themselves to the development and production of wind power plants, either as a single plant or as a large wind park. However, these plants require maintenance, repair as well as assembly and reassembly. For almost six years now, Voith Industrial Services Wind has established itself as a service provider for wind power plants. Investment companies, power plants, operating companies, plant manager as well as notable wind plant manufacturers are part of the extensive customer base. By dint of its complex customer base, its nationwide service points and its innovative service concepts, which warrant a high plant availability, the company become market leader within no time.
Wind power plants or not in operation for eternity and, naturally, operators are eager to avoid long downtimes. Consequently, they depend on fast intervention from their service provider, which guarantees a quick return to operation.
Founded as start-up in 2003, Voith Industrial Services Wind develop into a specialist for integrated process service for wind power plants. The Voith can provide international safety of an economical and strong partner with long-time experience and the required core competence. \"The customer expects transparency and one-stop full service for their plant portfolio: herewith they want to warrant a high technical availability with predictable cost structures. And this is exactly what we have on offer – from assembly through to implementation, maintenance and modernization. However, we also take over assembly and disassembly. In particular, when it comes to large plants the use of heavy cranes is necessary to realise repair and replacement of parts,\" stresses Managing Director Klaus Krüder. \"Meanwhile, we service more than 30 different types of wind power plants from seven leading OEMs.\" Voith Industrial Services Wind has conclude longterm contracts for different types of wind plants of the OEMs Nordex/Südwind, Vestas, Gamesa Eolica, Siemens Windpower, GE/Enron, DeWind, E.n.o. Energy with one´s customers. \"The service plant volume of 600 MW equals the output of a medium-sized power plant,\" explains Klaus Krüder. \"With our portfolio we are well-positioned and somehow unique in the German market.\"
A team of 100 employees in Germany, of which 20 are working at the headquarters in Rerik at the Baltic Sea, plus a workforce of ten people at the parent company in Stuttgart, ensure that 24 hours a day a service technician is available to carry out necessary repairs. \"We operate decentralised service points in close vicinity to wind power plants throughout Germany,\" says Mr. Krüder. \"In addition, we are active an France and Poland. In the near future we predict a positive development in the markets of Spain, Italy and the USA.\" Voith Industrial Services Wind is part of the Voith Group, a leading provider of technical services, which employs a global workforce of 43,000 people. Currently, Voith Industrial Services wind generates a turnover of twelve million EUR, and future development still points upwards. \"We aim at further expanding our service portfolio and want to service plants of more than 2 MW. As an independent provider we are going to grow continuously,\" stresses Mr. Krüder. He is full of confidence to reach these ambitious goals.
