Established in1993 Volkswind has since become one of the leading Independent Power Producers (IPP) in Europe. Its core business relies on planning, developing, constructing and operating wind farms.

Volkswind has built over 60 wind farms with wind turbines from Siemens, Enercon, Vestas, GE, Gamesa and Fuhrländer. A further 4.000 MW are under development.

With subsidiaries and projects in Germany, France, the UK, Poland, Bulgaria and the USA the company concentrates on growth markets.

Volkswind has received an independent "A" Rating for its financial stability and business model through Euler Hermes (Allianz Group).

The core competence runs from the search for locations, the succesful handling of all permission processes to the technical planning and optimization of the use of the sites. The experienced project team provide for a smooth and fast erection of the turbines. Thereafter Volkswind ensures an efficient and sage maintenance and operating phase.

Immediately after entering a new market, Volkswind founds a subsidiary company with local employees. The mix of regional know-how and national wind experience has proven to be a key competitive success factor.
