3S Industries enters the business of fully automated production lines and introduces a new generation of laminators

Lyss, Switzerland - 3S Swiss Solar Systems AG, a 100% subsidiary of 3S Industries AG, the world's technological leader for automatic string soldering machinery, laminating lines and testers for solar module production, has developed a completely new kind of fully automatic production line for the manufacture of solar modules.

The company will be introducing this line at the "European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition" in Valencia from 1st to 4th September.

"With the acquisition of Somont, we now have all the key technologies for the production of solar modules", says CEO Dr. Patrick Hofer-Noser, "That has enabled us to develop and implement this new concept of a fully automatic production line. Our development team went a completely new way instead of taking the usual route of simply substituting the existing manual operations with robotic solutions. Our engineers analysed and optimised every single step in the process of solar module production down to the finest detail. For every specific function and every step in the production of the modules, the appropriate technological equipment was developed and adapted. What this means for our customers is better, faster and safer production processes at lower costs".
