Siemens snags multi-billion dollar order: Dong purchases 97 x 6 MW turbines for offshore wind farms

Hamburg - Siemens has received a further order for two German offshore wind power plants: The Company will supply 97 wind turbines, each with a rating of six megawatts (MW) and a rotor diameter of 154 meters, to the Danish energy provider Dong Energy.

The total capacity for the Gode Wind 1 and Gode Wind 2 projects is 582 megawatts, enough to supply around 600,000 German households with eco-friendly power. The construction will represent a total investment of approximately 2.2 billion Euro.
