85 megawatts: Baywa r.e. commissions british solar farms
Munich - BayWa r.e. has successfully brought four more solar farms online in England with a solar power capacity of 85 MW.
"These four plants offer our business partners attractive investment opportunities and our usual high quality standards assure them of correspondingly high output levels. Alongside wind farm projects and trading in solar components, our solar project management business makes a significant contribution to our commercial success in the UK. We want to see another 80 to 100 MW installed there by the end of the year," explained Matthias Taft, Managing Director of BayWa r.e. and member of the BayWa AG board representing the energy division.
The UK is one of the core markets for BayWa r.e.'s renewable energy business. To date, the company has built solar and wind farms in the UK with a total output of over 230 MW. The majority of the assets constructed and commissioned so far have been sold on to investors. Further projects are still at the engineering or construction stage. The company also continues to seek consented opportunities to construct and operate.
